The 2025 Equinox only has three trim levels, which doesn't have the adverse effect of not having enough features and instead has the positive effect of giving more features at different budgets. Everything you've heard about the upcoming Equinox will pale in comparison to the experience you'll have when you're seated behind the wheel of one.

Transmission Options
The 2025 Chevy Equinox is built with the power of a turbocharged 1.5L I-4 engine under the hood. The 2025 Equinox's transmissions are different from their predecessors, with the 2025 model being the first of a fresh generation and incorporating a Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission (CVT) as the standard transmission type. There's no alternative to the turbocharged 1.5L I-4 engine, but not every 2025 Equinox comes with the CVT, and instead, some models come with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Both transmission types are a pivotal shift in how the Equinox feels to drive, and it's fair to say the 2025 model is perhaps the smoothest of the bunch to drive.
The Turbocharged 1.5L I-4 Engine
With the turbocharged 1.5L I-4 engine with each of the three trims, your 2025 Equinox outputs 175 hp - horsepower doesn't change across the board. The strength of your torque throughput differs between whether you're driving with FWD or AWD. With FWD, the 2025 Equinox has 184 lb-ft of torque, but if you buy a trim with AWD, this is increased to 203 lb-ft of torque - a 10% increase. The torque increase, in addition to the unified throughput to all of the wheels, means the Equinox is a great vehicle of choice if you wish to do some off-roading in your spare time.Â
Other Notable Features
You can also utilize the performance of the turbocharged 1.5L I-4 engine for towing with compatibility for Class I tow hooks thanks to its towing capacity of 1,500 lbs. As for the off-roading performance of the 2025 Equinox, such activities are best reserved for the Activ trim, which comes with all-terrain tires - other trims have all-season tires. Both the RS and Activ have the drive mode selector, so if it starts to rain or snow while you're driving, you can enable the selector, and it'll make the necessary changes. If you buy a 2025 Equinox that utilizes AWD instead, a dedicated off-road mode is added to the mix, bringing the total of drive modes the 2025 Equinox has to three.

Up front, you'll also have 57.7 inches of shoulder room and 55.2 inches of hip room, while the rear row gets 55.8 and 50.8 inches of shoulder and hip room, respectively.Â
Seating
There are a range of features for your Equinox that can greatly enhance the driving experience. For example, you can get power-adjustable chairs, and heated seats come standard. The availability of ventilated seats and rear-heated outboard seats so that everyone can enjoy the warmth during cold morning drives is a great addition to elevate the experience further. Cloth seats come standard with the 2025 Equinox, but you can also opt for Evotex, which is a synthetic leather, invoking a luxurious look with an even more premium feel to its texture.
Features
The 2025 Equinox makes some changes over its predecessors, including the introduction of a new infotainment center. What makes this infotainment center different is that it has one system across three trims, whereas older models offer two separate systems across the range of trims with two different screen sizes. The infotainment center that comes standard with every 2025 Equinox is presented with a vivid 11.3-inch screen, built-in software like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.Â
Connectivity
Adding to the amenities the 2025 Equinox brings over its predecessor is Google built-in. An infotainment center with Google built-in means there's a dedicated operating system that runs separately. This benefits you by giving you an ecosystem that calls for 3rd party app downloads and other things not possible without the connection of a smartphone for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The chances are Apple CarPlay users will likely continue to use their iPhones for it, but having Google built-in, especially at no extra price - there's no reason to complain about that.Â
Although the hotspot inside the 2025 Equinox doesn't utilize a 5G signal, 4G is still viable and fast enough to accommodate a handful of devices simultaneously. Thanks to wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the 2025 Equinox retains some of the best amenities of its predecessors that have beautifully stood the test of time. You can also opt for a wireless charging pad for your phone, which, if you do, your cabin will be free of wires - USB ports are included regardless for power delivery and media playback. What also comes included with every model to accommodate the infotainment center is a Driver Information Center that measures a similar 11 inches diagonally, providing a large screen to display your vehicle's gauges - speedometer, odometer, RPM, etc.Â
Chevy Safety Assist
The 2025 Equinox is one of Chevy's safest cars yet, especially regarding features. Your 2025 Equinox will have more than a dozen assistive features you can depend on. For example, because Chevy Safety Assist comes standard, every 2025 Equinox comes with Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking. With these three features, you're forewarned about potential front-end collisions.
